Have you always wanted to knit a raglan sweater but weren’t sure where to start? This class walks you through knitting your first raglan, from choosing a size and getting the correct gauge to finishing techniques. We will use the Tin Can Knits Flax Sweater pattern (available for free online). This is a great class for those who have never knitted a sweater as well as students who are still early in their sweater knitting adventures.
Supplies (not included in class fee, purchase separately at OLYS after first class session):
Flax Sweater pattern (available online or in the Tin Can Knits app for free). Students are strongly encouraged to download the free Tin Can Knits app on their phone prior to the first class session.

Worsted or DK weight yarn (light or medium color, wool or wool blend preferred). Quantity needed for your size to be determined in first class. Many lovely suitable yarns are available in sweater quantities at Our Local Yarn Shop. At the end of the first session we will walk through the shop as a class to look at yarn!
Circular needles in size to get gauge. Details to be discussed in first class session.
Measuring tape, gauge measuring tool (the kind with a window for counting your stitches highly recommended)
Stitch markers, yarn needle for weaving in ends
