Social Groups

Our Local Yarn Shop (OLYS) was always envisioned as a warm and welcoming place where fiber artists could not only find supplies but also a community of like-minded enthusiasts.

Welcome to a world of camaraderie, brainstorming help and unending possibility. Handwork, conversation and laughter seem to rule the table. And if that doesn’t help, there are always some folks to commiserate with.

Open Groups
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Meet every afternoon from approximately 12:30 – 3:30pm, or whenever you want to show up! With the exception of the Saturday group which begins to gather at 11:30. There is no charge for attending one of these social handwork groups.

Themed Groups
Wednesdays at 11:30 AM, an Intentional Handwork Group meets to support each other while working on fibery projects! Beginning as Crafting Support, originally hosted by a mental health nurse, the group has evolved into an all-inclusive, neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ friendly gathering of fiber fans.
