Description
Using 2 or 3 colors of cotton yarn and a rigid heddle loom, learn how to weave a striped towel with Joan Hoffmeyer. One of our most popular classes, this one will fill up quickly. You will complete your one-of-a-kind striped towel during the class.
Weaving is a time honored skill and a slow meditative way to create beauty with yarn. Learn the art of weaving on the rigid heddle loom, a relatively simple tool that can be used for many types of weave design. In this class you will learn how to calculate the amount of yarn needed for your project, how to warp a loom, how to load your shuttle and how to begin the weaving process.
This is a “gateway” class that opens doors to other, more complex, weave designs. By the end of this class you will walk away with a beautiful and truly unique cotton towel as well as a solid foundation in weaving skills.
Class fee is $95 and includes in depth instruction, the pattern and the use of the loom during class. Class size is small so you will have lots of help and attention. Ask for your 10% class supply discount when purchasing the yarn for your project.
