Description
In the world of weaving magic, weft-faced weaving is a superstar! Here, the weft yarns are the stars, stealing the spotlight by strutting their stuff so densely, the warp yarns are left shyly hiding behind the curtain.
This textile sorcery is pulled off with chunkier weft yarns and spread out warp threads. This allows the weft to cozy up tightly, crafting a fabric that’s thick, durable, and bursting with color. Perfect for place mats, table runners, sturdy rugs and eye-catching wall hangings, where the flair is all about the bold hues and not the hidden warp yarns.
You will need one color of warp yarn, Maurice Brassard 8/4 cotton is a good choice (available in the shop). You will also need an assortment of weft yarns in a worsted weight, wool is a good choice. You can use yarns from your stash to make this a fabulously scraptastic creation.
Suitable for experienced weavers.
